Fine Artwork Lease Pricing

The Fine Artwork Leasing Service by Ebony London follows an industry-standard, percentage-based pricing model to ensure fair value and flexibility for both the client and the artist. Leasing rates are determined as a percentage of each artwork’s retail value—typically ranging between 3% and 6% per month, depending on the piece’s size, medium, and placement environment.

This approach provides a transparent and scalable structure: smaller works remain accessible for shorter terms, while larger, statement pieces are appropriately valued for long-term display in professional or private settings. Delivery, installation, and insurance coordination may be added as optional services to create a seamless and refined leasing experience.

Prior to delivery or pick-up

To ensure a smooth and professional leasing experience, all requirements listed below must be completed prior to delivery or pick-up of any artwork. These steps protect the integrity of the art, confirm readiness, and maintain proper documentation for both parties.

1. Completed Fine Artwork Leasing Agreement

A signed Fine Artwork Leasing Agreement must be submitted and approved. This formal document outlines the terms, duration, payment schedule, responsibilities, and care requirements for each leased artwork.

2. Payment & Security Deposit

All initial payments must be received and cleared before delivery or pick-up, including:

  • First month’s lease payment

  • Security deposit (refundable upon safe return of the artwork).

  • Any applicable delivery, installation, or insurance coordination fees.

Payment confirmation will be required prior to scheduling transportation.

3. Proof of Insurance

The lessee must provide proof of insurance coverage for the full retail value of the artwork during the lease period.
If the client does not carry suitable coverage, Ebony London Art Studio may recommend approved insurance options or add a limited coverage fee.

4. Site Readiness Confirmation

The display space must be ready for immediate installation, including:

  • Clean, climate-controlled, and dry environment.

  • Proper wall or display structure suitable for hanging or mounting.

  • No exposure to direct sunlight, moisture, or extreme temperatures.

  • Clear access for delivery, with protection from dust or debris during setup.

Clients are encouraged to upload or share photos of the display area before delivery for review and approval.

5. Access & Scheduling

Delivery and installation appointments will be confirmed once all documentation and payments are received.
Clients must provide:

  • Access details (building entry instructions, parking/loading info, etc.)

  • On-site contact name and number available during delivery or pickup.

If self-pickup is approved, a scheduled time and handling instructions will be provided. Proper packaging and transportation equipment must be used to ensure safe handling.

6. Artwork Inspection

Before leaving the pick-up location, each artwork is carefully inspected, documented, and photographed.
Upon delivery or pick-up, the client will be asked to sign a condition report acknowledging receipt of the artwork in excellent condition.

7. A Copy of the Certificate of Authenticity & Care Instructions

Each leased artwork is accompanied by a copy of the Certificate of Authenticity and detailed Care & Handling Guidelines.
Clients are responsible for maintaining the artwork in accordance with these standards throughout the lease term.
