I’ve been an empath my entire life. In my early teens, I didn’t quite understand what that meant but I did notice that the conversions that I participated in were never “normal.” Normal might not be the right word, perhaps surfaced-level is more accurate.

I would often overhear the conversations and be amazed that they could talk about things such as the weather, relationship drama, or gossip for hours. Things that my mind did not consider. I would watch people as I eavesdropped on their surfaced-level conversations and wonder why they weren’t being transparent with their feelings.

I could feel the heartbreak of the woman who spoke about the outfit she would be wearing that evening instead of sharing how she barely got out of bed that morning due to overwhelming sadness. I could feel the depression of the man who spoke about how successful he was at work instead of sharing how and why he hated going home.

“The Designers” are a group of mentalities. “The Mentalities” are individual interpretations and responses to situations.

Imagine taking a walk and feeling unsure of yourself and then you look up and the person walking towards you has a T-Shirt on that says “Trust Yourself, With Yourself.”

Imagine feeling depressed, needing a sign to quit your soul-sucking job and go back to school and you turn around and the person walking towards you has on a hoodie that says “Be the Most!”

Imagine being discouraged because you shared your goals with someone who immediately gave you their opinion that your goals were unrealistic and you look up and the person standing in front of you has on a T-Shirt that says “Not Taking Opinions Today!”

Imagine sitting across from a narcissist, unsuccessfully explaining why you can no longer accept their manipulation and the person walking by you is wearing a hoodie that says “I’m Not Explaining Nothing!’
